I think the two most over looked areas for start ups are number 3 and 5. All of them hit the mark, but those particularly stuck out.  
 
From my experience I&#039;m not sure if most startups understand that everything they do is a part of their brand. I&#039;ve seen products or services created without the founders stepping back and looking from a customers perspective, who are we and what do we stand for? How do we make people feel? 
 
A great resource around the subject is Guy Kawasaki&#039;s Art of the Start. It has a series of questions around branding, mission, etc. that every company should go through with its founders. 
 
Do you think its common for startups to bootstrap at the expense of a well designed brand identity? </description>
