There is no denying the impact of Twitter these days. But what if we talked in “real life” like we do on Twitter? That is the very question that Dan Gurewitch at CollegeHumor answers in this funny video.

Funny video, seen a few times. Nonetheless, the video makes a solid reference. Online relationships need to be built on a solid foundation and then bring business into play. True relationships are not built upon business.
Do not hide behind the computer and say certain statements you would not normally say. This devalues social media and networking. Use these tools to your advantage and be yourself, the authentic you.
great video- very well done.. makes me miss living in nyc ..Confirms what I have been thinking for a while- twitter and business- Not so sure about that- maybe for very specific messaging- like live events- For the most part- I don't really see it. Twitter seems to be much more about instantaneous messaging and ranting- people who need attention and have to share every little event or non event in their lives. Business messaging is well thought out and always keeps long term in mind. I dont' really think that solid business messaging needs to be updated every 17 seconds. Linked in seems to be just fine for business along with proper micros ites and a well monitored blog. Question is- How long will the Twitter fad consume daily marketing blogs . We really need a better distraction. Lately- I hear 4 out of 6 people stop their active tweets within a month. Good for them.
i would like to add one more thing- the next step in social media relevance will be a "twitter" with very specific geo targeting- For example- great for companies with couponing.
Cheers

Dave,
Really puts Twitter in perspective. But maybe that is the allure of Twitter. Twitter is a place to share some of the things that we censor in normal conversation. I think there is a place for this type of conversation but we should always remember the internet is basically a permanent record these days and at no time should you take your digital trail lightly.
Something must be right about Twitter or no one would be using it.
Thanks for the link,
Brian
Finally! A relevant, intelligent post about a theme that so much wisdom is missing. Thank you for sharing this artistic and intelligent commentary with the world. We definitely need more good judgment like you’ve shown here. I appreciate it very much
