		<description>What if the investments were thought of as marketing expenditures?  For instance, you invest $X in a new online media company.  As part of the deal, you get a certain amount of media to use for your brands.  Thus you are taking dollars that would be used for an advertising buy and making them work harder by giving the normal immediate payoff, as well as the potential for a future return.</description>

The issue is separating church &amp; state, as a corporate entity, your responsibility is to shareholders and investments could take the place of dividends maybe?</description>
